The Buenos Aires British Hospital, founded in 1844, is a non-profit, public welfare organization, devoted to provide medical and hospital services of the highest quality within strict ethical codes, and with a firm commitment to society.
The British Hospital gives medical care to both the local Argentine and the English speaking communites and is dedicated to training and the advance of medicine
In addition there are five medical centres throughout the city of Buenos Aires, offering diagnostics, consultations, minor surgery and rehabilitation services and dedicated liaison service for patients in the Argentine provinces.
The Hospital has pioneered in introducing diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in Argentina, such as the first cochlear implant in 1980 and the first bone marrow transplant in 1986.
It acquired the first helical scanner in Latin America, it opened the first free standing major day surgery unit in the country, and in 2008 performed the second pancreatic transplantation, in a previous recipient of a kidney transplant.

The British Hospital Buenos Aires has been granted the new Full Accreditation for a three-year term, the highest accreditation provided by the Technical Institute of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (ITAES).

Treatment enquiries
* Treatment for benign prostate hyperplasia is given with diode laser, which has significant advantages over surgery or earlier generation lasers. It requires only local or regional anaesthesia and benefits include minimal or no bleeding, ambulatory recovery (or at worst 24 hours admission) and minimal post-operative care.
