CHU Liege offers specialist centres in obstetrics/gynaecology, paediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, cardiology including cardiovascular surgery, organ transplants, stem cell research and pain management. It also collaborates on important projects with the University Hospitals of Aachen in Germany and Maastricht in the Netherlands.

Liege University Hospital is a full-service hospital for the Wallonia region of Belgium and it collaborates on important projects with the University Hospitals of Aachen in Germany and Maastricht in the Netherlands.
The two main sites are at Sart-Timan and N.D. des Bruyères (Chênée) with a further site at Esneux and 6 regional consultation centres.
In April 2010 it also opened the first CyberKnife® radiosurgery centre in Belgium - for details see the CHU Radiotherapy page (coming shortly).

CHU Liege is a public sector hospital but private and international patients are also welcomed.
Centre of research
As well as benefitting from its status as a university hospital, CHU works with several local and regional research establishments, such as the Cyclotron Research Centre, to accelerate transfers of knowledge from fundamental research into clinical research projects for the benefit of patients.
Current projects include immunology, infection and inflammation, cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, cancers including 'intelligent' medicines, neurosciences including Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's and coma, endocrinology including type 1 diabetes and the impact of genetic disorders in a wide range of medical specialities.
